From early morning tea time rituals to silversmithing at my workbench, nothing beats a long weekend to catch up on things around the house.
It seems like forever since I’ve sat at my workbench and crafted a piece of jewelry. I am happy to say, my yearning for a beautiful ring made from a precious piece of Montana Agate finally came true. I’ve had visions of this ring now which seems like forever. I am so pleased with the way it turned out and I wear it proudly. Even B loves it — “Mommy? Can I see your ring, again?” and he admires it over and over.
If you look closely, you can see a white mountain at the bottom of the stone. I sawed a pattern in the back of the ring, allowing light to seep in creating a dramatic “sky” above the snowy mountain top.
“Mommy, I can almost see me and daddy skiing there . . . “
The peonies have also been blooming in my garden. I love to bring them inside and admire their delicate, fluffy blooms.
In my garden, these red flowers are called, “Hot Lips.”
. . . and these roses, the name of red variety escapes me but I can’t forget the pink ones. They are called, “Jekyll and Hyde,” and are incredibly fragrant.
It felt good to work in the garden again too and my chives, oh my, they are blooming like crazy. I have so many chives and I love them because they attract the bumblebees. I’d love to start a honeybee hive, one day.
Hubby is recovering from a hip owie — he had a hip replacement recently and the doctor says in a few weeks he should be good to go. We are all looking forward to getting back on the road !
Wishing you a beautiful weekend, where ever you may be xoxo
With love,
Monica

Always enjoy reading your blog–love the plant ‘Hot Lip’s. I overwinter it every year inside. Hummingbirds love it. JoAnn
Loved this post – I’m such a fan of peonies – one of my favorite flowers but those Hot Lips are amazing too.
And yes, that ring is gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing your home with us!

I absolutely LOVE your photography! Is there someplace on your blog where you discuss your camera, lens and processing software choices?
Hi Suzette — there is not, but thank you for the inspiration to create a post covering this. I will most definitely be sure to do that ! But for now, up until recently I shot with a Canon T2i. I recently upgraded to a Canon 5d Mark III. I use Adobe Bridge in conjunction with Photoshop to process my photos. Lots of fun :) Thank you for your super sweet words ♥
