“You will absolutely love the Junkyard Bistro – it’s really a true hidden gem,” tells me our neighbor at the Wagonhammer Campground in North Fork, Idaho.
We had a bit of a drive ahead of us on this day as we were making our way towards Challis, ID (hot springs) where our next camp spot for the night would be. I could have made some snacks for the road to keep our hunger at bay but after hearing so many positive comments about the Junkyard Bistro, I will admit, I wanted to check it out.
Boy was I happy that we did ♥
Hubby ordered the famous, “Junkyard Burger,” and I ordered the Gyro which was so delicious. B ordered the Nutella and Honey sandwich and oh my — what a surprisingly sweet treat that was. Prices here are really good ($$) and the food is out of the this world. Honestly — if you’re ever in Salmon, ID give it a try — you won’t be disappointed.
After a beautiful drive we arrive at the Challis Hot Springs where we are given a riverside spot! Another opportunity for fishing as well as soaking in the hot spring pools they have here.
We were pleasantly surprised with the campground which was meticulously maintained and had some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating and well, just made us feel like we were at home. Another great RV park – for sure!
Tomorrow we make our way towards Ketchum, ID but not before we boondock at another beautiful spot. Can’t wait to share that with you!
