Glacier National Park via J5MM.com

After visiting Glacier National Park last week we took a trip to Whitefish, Montana where I happened upon the Meriwether of Montana shop.  Let me tell you something fellow campers, glampers and outdoor enthusiasts alike – this is the shop for YOU.   But good news here, you don’t have to travel all the way to Whitefish like I did to enjoy their goodies, simply click here and you’ll see what I mean.

Here are some of the things I brought home to my silver girl:

Fab Finds Tuesday Montana Style via J5MM.com // #Airstream #GoRVing

#1 is a darling little red rimmed enamelware pail.  Came in perfect for storing my fresh picked huckleberries from the Montana alpine wilderness ?

#2 is a cute little wooden plaque that says all it needs to say :)

#3 is a coffee percolator.  Very happy to find this!

#4 is a bandana that I just could not resist.  It is designed by a local artist from Montana.  I’m going to make a pillow out of it, I happen to think it is just that cute.

I’m looking forward to sharing more about our trip through Idaho and Montana with you.   Can you imagine?  I took over 3,000 photos.  I will be busy here in the next couple of weeks.

Silver shiny hugs to you xoxo

PS I made a huckleberry pie during our trip and other goodies :)  Stay tuned for scrumptious recipes ❤

Make Every Summer Count

Hubby and I have always taken care to make sure that we make each summer count for B.  Next week, for two weeks, we’re off to Idaho’s cool and refreshing flowing rivers, glorious lakes, majestic mountains and continual non-stop outdoor exhilarating adventures.  We are celebrating the precious #18Summers we have with B (seven left to go before college *snif*) with Visit Idaho and Row Adventures.  There’s a lot on the agenda that I am seriously looking forward to photographing and sharing with YOU.  I understand cell service is zero to nill where we will be, but you never know, I may manage to upload a photo or two to my Instagram Account @J5MM_Blog :)

See you when we get back ❤

These words briefly describe my recent trip with hubby, B and Oliver to Leavenworth, Washington and then further onto our little piece of property in Roslyn, Washington where my silver girl now waits for my return.

Just one more week now, until we hit the road to Idaho for two full weeks of adventure.  I can hardly, hardly wait I tell you.  Until then I motor on working hard in corporate America and enjoying sunsets like these.  That’s Seattle there in the distance.  The sky, isn’t it amazing?  This is only one picture out of about 50 I took that night.  I couldn’t get over the colors.

Thank you for being here and I am sorry I have been so absent ❤  I have been working extra hard in corporate America and then I was dealing with a spider bite on my leg, which now, thankfully is healing.

Storage Under Tow via J5MM.com // #Airstream

We hit the road this weekend and I am so looking forward to it.  I’ve had a crazy few weeks at work with deadline-after-deadline and even though I am very thankful for my career and enjoy it, I am also very, very ready for a road trip vacation.  We’re taking our Silver Girl to the mountains of Leavenworth here in Washington State and then onward to some dry camping over Blewett Pass and a riverside spot we scored at Salmon La Sac that is close to our property in Roslyn, Washington.  I’ve got a serious hankering for some catch-and-release fly fishing, a cracklin’ campfire and some relaxation along with some down home cooking in my silver kitchen. Sunday-Morning2

From early morning tea time rituals to silversmithing at my workbench, nothing beats a long weekend to catch up on things around the house.

It seems like forever since I’ve sat at my workbench and crafted a piece of jewelry.  I am happy to say, my yearning for a beautiful ring made from a precious piece of Montana Agate finally came true.  I’ve had visions of this ring now which seems like forever.  I am so pleased with the way it turned out and I wear it proudly.  Even B loves it — “Mommy?  Can I see your ring, again?” and he admires it over and over.

first aid

Before our recent trip to McCall I made sure our first aid kit was fully stocked and that I had all the necessary documents for Oliver.  Having these things in place gives me peace of mind during our trips.  To read about our McCall trip and to see more photos, please visit my latest post over on GoRVing’s blog here.

Thank you for being here (and there!)

Fabulous Finds for your RVing Travels via J5MM.com // #Airstream

1.  I may just swap out my white dish soap dispenser for this one, because it’s just too cute.

2.  To market, to market, to market we go, but not without this very chic Parisian Cotton Net Bag

3.  If the market is calling and we have our bicycle, then this pannier would be perfect.  Btw — I can’t get enough of panniers for my bike, I have a problem collecting them, like I have a problem collecting handbags.

4.  Speaking of pannier/handbag/bag addictions, I wish I would have had this bag on our white water rafting trip through Hells Canyon last summer — would have been perfect!

Hope you’re having a lovely Tuesday and as always, thank you for being here :)

With all my heart,
Monica ♥

Fabulous Finds For Your RV via J5MM.com // #Airstream #BestMadeCo

I  love this company, and I want to mention, I have no affiliation with them, whatsoever.  I simply adore their products for the great outdoors that I believe are very well made (from the few items that I own).   Here are a few of their things I have (and would love) for the Airstream and our RVing travels:

#1) It’s red and has little white stars all over it — talk about the cutest Banadana on earth.  Would be a great gift for the man in your life, or the dog in your life, or the kid in your life, or for even yourself — I’m totally buying four of them :)

#2) My parents escaped from communism  in (then) Czechoslovakia during Prague Spring in 1968 and came to America — New York City to be exact.  Shortly after in 1971 they had me (I was almost born in the car as my dad was zipping down the NYC streets at 1 am b-lining it for Mt. Sinai hospital, where thankfully I was born).  I am so proud to live in this free country and fly, this flag, proudly.

#3) This one is pricey, and it’s a total dream item for me to buy for hubby and B.  One day I will hold it’s preciousness in my hands but until then I continue to stalk the website and dream about it.  I’d love it on board the Airstream for the purpose of chopping wood for campfires and I’d find a nice place to display it on the wall — somewhere.  It’s that beautiful.  Plus, they have so many other designs to choose from too.

#4)  I have featured this precious pot before here on FFT, but I’m doing it again, because it’s been almost three years and it’s been a total workhorse and cleans up to a brand new finish each and every time.  I have the white one with red handle and I heart it so.  I use it as my little deep fryer on the board the Airstream.  I use it to make porridge for B on chilly mornings during ski trips and I use it to make sauces and even warm up water for tea.  I love love love this little utility pot.

Thank you for being here and I hope you are having a lovely Tuesday!  This weekend is Memorial Day — wondering if you all are heading anywhere?  We are staying put as B has some baseball games to play and I have a garden to tend to.  But we’ll be back on the road soon in the next few weeks and I can hardly wait.

Hugs to you all xoxo
~ Monica

My favorite  pot — in action frying up some apple pumpkin fritters a couple Falls ago :)  Along with the pumpkin fritters is B holding our poor sad axe.  Maybe I’ll ask Santa to bring one from Best Made this Christmas.

Kalaloch Beach State Park on the Olympic Peninsula via J5MMM.com // RV Lifestyle #Airstream Style

“Mommy?  Mommy, are you still sleeping?” B is whispering this into my ear as I sleep  . . .

I don’t say a word, hoping he will take pity on his poor tired and sleepy mom and let me be, for at least a moment longer.

“Mommy?  Mommy?”

This boy of mine.  No matter what time he goes to bed, as soon as the crack of dawn is upon us, he is up and at ’em.

“B — we are on vacation — you can sleep in if you want . . .” I try and convince him.

He is still standing next to me, I can feel his presence — he is probably pondering his next move . . .

Then hubby says, “Good Morning B,” with all smiles (I can hear him smiling, does that make sense?)  and he is next to rise and now it’s official, our day has begun.  But after the fog clears from my sleepy head, I am grateful for the early morning wake up call.  I look outside and see that the clouds moved out overnight and a beautiful pastel sunrise is on its way.

These two posts of mine covering our trip to Kalaloch Beach State Park is proof of the Olympic Peninsula’s moody weather behavior.  Cloudy, cozy and drizzling one day and the next?  Nothing but blue skies.  I took at least a million pictures.

Hubby and B headed down to the beach for a game of soccer while Oliver and I pulled ourselves together and made a skillet breakfast fit for an Olympic Peninsula king :)
